Mission of Kelloggsville

Kelloggsville Church is a community of Christians engaged in making connections. Through God's Spirit, we encounter people on their journey toward Jesus and make connections with:

Hearts to God

People to Community

Gifts to Ministry

Faith to Life

All with the focus on God.

"All this is from God, who reconciled (connected) us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation (making connections): that God was reconciling (connecting) the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation (making connections). We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled (connected) to God." -2 Corinthians 5:18-20

Vision & Values of God's People

Glorify God in All Things: We believe that in everything we do, from our acts of worship to our use of time, gifts, and money, we do it all for the glory of God. "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." -1 Corinthians 10:31

Belong to Jesus: We believe that god, by grace alone, gives us our identity in Christ. The Heidelberg Catechism says, "my only comfort is that I am not my own, but I belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ." Even believing this, we have a tendency to try to earn our status with God; like Martha in Luke 10, our good works can become our focus instead of Jesus. It is essential that we reflect more on who God has made us to be without the distraction of what God wants us to do. "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" -1 John 3:1

Become Like Jesus: We believe that God expects believers of all ages to grow spiritually and more faithfully reflect His image. We thirst for Spirit-empowered Biblical preaching, teaching, discipleship, and formative experiences to encounter God and grow in spiritual maturity. "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." -Ephesians 4:22-24

Embrace One Another: We believe that the Church should demonstrate the care of the Lord himself by accepting and embracing each other in our brokenness and diversity, and by becoming a healing community to those within the church and our community. Our call to serve is clearly stated in 1 Peter 4:10-11 "Each one should use whatever gifts he or she has to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone sees, they should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ."

Share the Gospel: We believe that all ministries of the Church should have seeker-friendly elements. This also includes building God's kingdom through relational evangelism, interconnected ministry outreach, regional and world missions, service projects, etc... "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." -Acts 1:8

Cover with Prayer: We believe that as the corporate body in Christ, we stand together and commit to pray for each other as well as blanket our ministers and community in prayer. "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." -Colossians 4:2, "Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere." -Ephesians 6:18

Live by Faith: We believe Jesus is Lord over all. As Reformed believers, we reject attempts to limit our faith to Sunday or to create false divisions between what is sacred and what is secular. Rather, we hold to a faith that shapes every part of our lives, transforms culture, manages creation, and affirms that Christ's kingdom has already come near. " the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in have and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." -Philippians 2:11, "As followers of Jesus Christ, living in this world - which some seek to control, but which others view with despair - we declare with joy and trust: Our world belongs to God!" -Contemporary Testimony

Find Your Place: We believe the church is a gift-based ministry, which operates as a united community of servants discovering and utilizing their spiritual gifts. "Since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead an be what we were made to be." -Romans 12:5 (The Message)
